Purple has come out with a new pillow that is all about giving you the best of what a Purple pillow can provide. It is called the Harmony and the name carries more meaning than most. This poetically named pillow balances softness, cooling comfort, and a responsive feel. All together with the feel of no pressure support from the Purple Hex Grid makes for a pillow that balances all of these features harmoniously. At least that is what Purple claims. Materials & Design:

The innovators at Purple spent over one and a half years and 50 different prototypes before they landed on the final design for the Harmony Pillow. All of this hard work and dedication was focused in on creating a pillow that makes the most out of the Purple Hex Grid, combined with the features people really love from a quality pillow.

The core of the Purple Harmony Pillow is made out of a breathable and natural Talalay Latex. This is a breathable latex material that has perforations throughout for optimal balance of breathability, support, and pressure relief. This latex material has a rather responsive feel, which basically means that it bounces back into shape quickly and without hesitation. This is a very different feel to most memory foams that notoriously have very slow to retain their original shape.

Surrounding the internal core is a 360 degree wrap of Purple Grid Hex. This grid is design to supply pressure free support, along with loads of extra airflow. This section of the pillow is really what makes this pillow unique to the Purple brand. The Purple Grid Hex allows for more give only where you need it, while also giving support around your neck and cradling your head.

The cover of this pillow is made to be as breathable and stretchy as possible in order to get the maximum benefits of the pillow design underneath. Purple used a blend of 88% Polyester, 3% Nylon, 9% Spandex for the cover. This really does provide a breathable mesh cover that has optimal stretch in order to get the most out of the pillow’s purple grid.

Is The Purple Harmony Pillow Comfortable?

It is easy to see that the overall design of this pillow is focused on creating comfort. Not only does this pillow provide a great amount of support and pressure relief. It also does a great job at remaining cool throughout the night. The airflow throughout the pillow and materials used help to prevent any heat build up. This feature can really increase your comfort level as you sleep.

We found that the feel of this pillow is rather unique. The traditional shape, with a responsive feel from the Talalay Latex core and of course the Purple Grid Hex on top. Overall this is a very comfortable pillow all be it different from most you have likely experienced before. Although we found that when compared to the Original Purple Pillow, the Harmony has a feel that will be much more universally liked. While the Original can be a bit polarizing as it is so different from most pillows.

Another way Purple makes this pillow comfortable to everyone is by offering two different size options. Unlike most pillows that are simply sized to fit pillow cases, the Purple Harmony Pillow is created to fit how you sleep. The Standard size Harmony Pillow has a slightly shorter and lower profile. This lowers the overall loft size of the pillow which is ideal for petite people who sleep on their back or side, as well as stomach sleepers. While the Tall option is slightly longer and has a higher profile.

It may only seem like a slight change in dimensions, this has a big impact on comfort. However, this option will be ideal for most back and side sleepers especially if you are and average to large size person. Most side sleepers will prefer the Tall option as they typically need a loftier pillow for proper head and neck support. Care Instructions:

Unlike the Original Purple Pillow, the Harmony is not completely washable. However, it s still easy to keep clean and care for. To wash simply remove the external cover and machine wash with cold water. Then place in a warm breezy spot to lay flat and dry. We would like to recommend only washing with like colors even on a cold wash.

Purple only suggests spot cleaning for the internal pillow itself. If something gets on your pillow try to remove as much as possible first and then spot clean as needed. The great news is that this pillow is hypoallergenic which is great new for any allergy sufferers out there. As long as you wash or change your pillow cases frequently, your pillow should stay rather fresh and clean.

Purple Harmony Pillow Value:

If you look at all of the different pillow offerings from Purple, the Harmony Pillow is going to be their top tier pillow. It features the highest level of design for optimal comfort and durability. This is no doubt reflected in the price point of the pillow as well. If you are looking for a pillow to simply through on the bed and fill up some space, then this is not the pillow for you.

However, if you are looking to transform your sleeping experience and comfort, then the Purple Harmony Pillow is going to be the one for you. Don’t forget that you get an extensive 100-night trial period, along with a year long warranty. This allows you to really test out your new pillow. Purple Harmony Pillow Review – Overall:

Sometimes creating a simple yet effective product takes a lot of time and effort. We believe the year and a half and over 50 prototypes that Purple went through when creating and developing the Harmony Pillow really paid off. This pillow is a crowd pleaser and we think most sleepers will find this pillow to be comfortable no matter what position you sleep in.

Before purchasing do take note of which size option will work best for you. Most side sleepers will prefer the tall option as it has a higher profile. While the lower profile is better for back sleepers and stomach sleepers. However, if you have a larger build and prefer to sleep on your back, then the tall option may also work for you.
