You may already know Helix for their quality mattresses. Helix creates a number of different comfort options in order to customize your comfort to be exactly what you want. So it is no surprise that they created a weighted blanket of their own so their customers can customize their comfort even more. Keep reading to learn what makes the Helix Weighted Blanket so comfortable and unique.
If you are just looking into purchasing a weighted blanket for the first time, then it is important to note how to choose the weight of your blanket. On average you want to aim for a weighted blanket that is around 10% your body weight. If you are in between sizes we typically suggest going with the lighter option first to get used to the sensation of weighted blankets.
The Helix comes in a 10lb, 15lb, or 20lb option. Many weighted blankets start out with a 15lb blanket as their lightest option. We love that the Helix comes in a lighter 10lb option.

All weighted blankets need some kind of filling or materials to provide the extra weight. Helix chose to use small glass beads that are then quilted between two layers of 100% cotton. Since the beads are extra small, they are not as lumpy as other larger beads are in other weighted blankets. Which we see as a definite plus.
Then there is a removable external cover that is unique to Helix. It is dual sided featuring a Sheared Microfiber on one side and a fleece on the other side. This cover makes this blanket extra warm and snugly. This is a great weighted blanket for the cooler months when you want to cuddle up on the couch with a good book or movie.
The external fleece and microfiber cover is completely removable and washable. Helix suggests washing on a cool cycle with gentle detergents. You can tumble dry on low or hang dry as you prefer. If a spill gets through to the internal blanket, we suggest spot treating.
Be sure not to get the blanket too wet, if too much soapy water into the blanket it can cause mildew growth. If your blanket could use some freshening up, we suggest lightly spraying with a linen spray and hanging it up to air out.
Create your very own linen spray without any synthetic scents or yucky chemicals, with our DIY Natural Linen Spray.
The 10lb and 15lb share the same dimensions, 72″ x 48″. While the 20lb features an extra two inches 74″ x 48″. Many weighted blankets come with a rather steep price tag. However, Helix’s Weighted Blankets are reasonably priced.
These prices also come with a 1 year limited warranty and a 100-night trial period. We love that you can give this blanket a good try and see whether or not a weighted blanket is right for you before truly committing to the price.
We love the extra plush exterior cover for this blanket. The sheared microfiber and fleece make for a cozy warm weighted blanket that is oh so lovely to cuddle up with. If you tend to sleep warm we do find that this blanket tends to be on the warmer side and if you heat up easily or looking for a cooler summer weighted blanket, then this is probably not the one for you.
While you could remove the outer cover, we find it is the cover that makes this weighted blanket by Helix so appealing. However, if you are looking for an extra cozy weighted blanket, then the Helix Weighted Blanket is a total win.
