Loom and Leaf Mattress – Materials:

Foam and a thick quilted cover make up this 12”, four layer foam mattress. This is much more than standard 10″ bed in a box mattresses. The 2” top layer is a Conforming Gel Foam. This layer is infused with gel and has a gel panel. It even has channels for optimal air circulation to keep you cool and eliminate excess heat. Being cool means being comfortable.

The next layer is 2.5” of VISCO-elastic, 5.0 pcs dense memory foam. This layer provides the contouring comfort plus all you the support you need. This layer evenly distributed weight and therefore makes you feel weightless. Weightless plus still providing pressure relief is a difficult thing to achieve but the Loom and Leaf does it.

Next is the 2” transition foam layer for deep comfort. If you’re a side sleeper or a larger sleeper that tends to sink, this is important. This layer is soft yet supportive and is able to work between the top and base layers.

The last layer is 5.5 inches of base foam to provide the support of the bed. This foam is made to be a dense and supportive foundation that is durable enough to last for years to come. This is all wrapped in a quilted cotton cover made out of organic materials. It is made to be soft and breathable as well as thicker to add extra softness to the mattress. It also uses thistle as a natural flame retardant too.

Leesa Mattress – Materials:

The Leesa’s 10” and 3-layer mattress starts with a 2” layer of performance foam. While it is also aerated to decrease heat retention as well. The performance foam has latex like properties that give it just enough responsiveness to still move around easily. The next layer is 2” of Contouring Memory foam. This layer relieves pressure and evenly distributes weight. You’ll love how this mattress is contouring and hugging in just the right amount.

The base layer is 6” of Core Support foam. The foundation layer is most important because it provides support, strength, and durability to the mattress. Lastly, the cover is equally as beautiful as it is functional. You will notice it’s unique 4 white stripe against an iconic gray cover. This cover is soft and breathable and gives life to the Leesa.

Loom and Leaf Mattress – Comfort:

loom leaf mattress reviewIt’s hard to get much more comfortable than the Loom and Leaf, especially when it uses 4 layers of comfort, plus two firmness options. They designed it with all sleeping positions and sleepers sizes in mind. The Loom and Leaf gives you just enough cushion to relieve pressure points while still contouring to your body. Once again, since the Loom and Leaf is never boxed, there is a substantial difference on its comfort level both initially and long-term. You can just tell you are sleeping on elevated comfort and quality, knowing this mattress was never folded up, changing its foam properties.

The relaxed firm feel is the most popular and most comfortable. It scores about a 6 on a firmness scale of 1-10. It is ideal for back, side, and stomach sleepers, and overall for sleepers who like all the support with a little extra softness. The firm option is also highly comfortable and is ideal for those who don’t want to sink into their mattress. Basically this is back and stomach sleepers. This option is around an 8 on a 1-10 firmness scale.

Both are ideal comfort options for memory foam mattresses. Since all foam beds don’t have coil systems you need dense and durable foams if you want a bed that will have lasting comfort and quality. The Lom and Leaf is just that, providing a solid yet very comfortable feel that sets itself apart form all competition.

Loom and Leaf vs Leesa – Motion Transfer:

loom leaf mattress reviewFor most memory foam mattresses, motion transfer is an excellent quality because there is little to no motion transfer. Per a real life couple that constantly got in and out of bed at separate times, the Loom and Leaf had hardly any vibrations. When one partner moved around frequently, it was almost completely undetectable. If you’re a light sleeper, the Loom and Leaf may be your new mattress answer.

The Leesa is also an excellent choice when it comes to motion transfer. The responsive foam adds ease of moving  without significant bounce. The Leesa also eliminates motion transfer with its memory foam being underneath the performance foam. This creates another layer that deadens an isolated motion . Even the dense base foam absorbs vibrations, so you and your partner don’t have to worry about waking each other up.

Loom and Leaf – Sleeping Cool:

casper vs loom and leaf mattress comparisonSleeping cool may seem like the bane of memory foam existence, but both the Loom and Leaf and Leesa mattress take unique steps to help you sleep cool, unlike traditional memory foams. First, the Loom and Leaf uses a cooling gel panel located on the very top of the mattress, directly under the cover from the neck to the legs. This panel ultimately keeps you cool while also reliving pressure points and supporting spinal alignment. In addition, this gel regulates temperature and minimizes over heating.

The Loom and Leaf also has a top foam layer that is convoluted on the bottom to allow for maximum cooling. The foams beneath the top layer also assist in sleeping cool by having gel infused as well. And all of this is on a dense base foam that won’t let you sink it too far. If you don’t think this sounds like the coolest night’s sleep, you can take it from a real-life review that all these Loom and Leaf qualities perform exactly as they should. Our user confidently had a cool night’s sleep.

Leesa – Sleeping Cool:

leesa mattress reviewThe Leesa has the right idea in mind when it comes to sleeping cool as well. The memory foam is under the performance foam layer which means it stays cooler than you think. This eliminates direct contact between your body and the warm memory foam.

The sturdy and dense base of the Leesa also contributes to sleeping cool because you don’t sink. This helps your body stay closer to the top of the mattress and provide more air flow around your body. Finally, the cover on the Leesa is a soft breathable layer that ensures not to add any more heat build up.

Loom and Leaf vs Leesa – Edge Support:

loom leaf mattress reviewThe dense foams from top to bottom of the Loom and Leaf are the key to having a solid, stable, sleeping surface throughout. You are easily able to use the entire mattress for sleeping on this very consistent mattress. The Loom and Leaf creates a very solid perimeter and will even support sitting on the edge. Though we never recommend sitting for the simple reason that you don’t want to negatively impact your sleeping surface, the Loom and Leaf is quite sturdy and solid even for the occasional sitting.  Making the edge support of this memory foam mattress superior to many other all foam beds.

The Leesa uses several layers of quality foams to create an even and level sleeping surface. You can also use the entire surface to sleep anywhere. Whether in the middle or up to the edge you shouldn’t feel much difference in support.  However, when comparing the Loom and Leaf vs Leesa it does not feel nearly as dense and solid, especially from a sitting perspective. Making the Leesa a good bed for a consistent sleeping surface that will last for years, but less for sitting purposes.

Loom and Leaf vs Leesa – Summary:

Although they both use Memory Foam and have impressive online markets, the Loom and Leaf and Leesa mattresses are vastly different. For this reason we’d choose either mattress for different reasons.
